So far, 109 countries and international organisations have confirmed their
attendance at the Expo, according to Wu at a work meeting of the organising

needs more attention and support from local governments and central

"Efforts should be made to attract more countries and organisations to attend
the Expo and improve publicity and management plans," she said.
Wu urged to organise a law-abiding, scientific, economical, safe, noble and
harmonious Expo.
The key works in 2007 including strengthening participants service,
accelerating relocation and construction, reviewing related rules and policies,
reinforcing communications and promotions, continuing to host big events and
forums, along with improving collaborations between different areas and
departments.
China is hoping to attract 200 countries and international organizations to
the Shanghai World Expo, making it the largest of its kind in history.
Earlier reports said that the United States, the United Kingdom, France,
Germany, Canada, the United Nations, the World Bank and the African Union were

Exhibitors started registering in March last year. The Chinese government has
taken a variety of measures to attract Exhibitors to the Shanghai World Expo,
promising to provide each developing country with at least one exhibition hall
free of charge.
The expo, which will last for 184 days, will be held from May 1 to October 31
in 2010 in booming Shanghai. It is the first time that the expo has been held in
a developing country.
