On November 28, 2006, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group (SAIC) and General Motors formalized an agreement an agreement with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination to become the global automotive partner of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China. It is the first time when both parties of a Sino-foreign joint venture become the partners for Expo 2010 Shanghai. This significant event also indicates that the transnational giants have joined their Chinese counterparts for Expo 2010 Shanghai.
