
The international request for bidding for the Public Amusement Center of
World Expo Shanghai, invested by Shanghai World Expo (Group) Company Limited was
started at the beginning of August. Four Sino-foreign design consortiums and
three overseas top design firms offered their proposals. On October 13, the
investor held a debriefing meeting with a number of specialists coming from home
and abroad present regarding the bidding proposals in a meeting room on the
seventh floor of World Expo Group Building.
In the debriefing, the representatives from the seven bidders delivered
detailed introduction about their design proposals on the basis of the Expo
theme and positioning of the Public Amusement Center. They also answered the
questions from the panelists present. It is disclosed by the World Expo Group
that the bidding results will be made public in the near future. The Public
Amusement Center for World Expo Shanghai is designed to be the largest and
permanent hall in the planned Expo park, and expected to play an important role
during and after the Expo Shanghai as a perfect carrier for embodying the theme
of "Better City, Better Life" and harmonious urban life.
