Following its maiden exhibition of the "Centennial History of Sculptures" last winter, the Shanghai Urban Sculpture Art Center held its first themed exhibition: the spring invitation sculpture exhibition by the name of "Welcome World Expo: Sculpture makes the city more beautiful". Centering upon the theme of "Welcome World Expo", the exhibition invited many famous domestic sculptors, including the constellation of sculptors from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. It is learned that the Shanghai Urban Sculpture Art Center plans to hold three "National Invitation" exhibitions: the spring exhibition, the autumn exhibition and the annual exhibition. The center will solicit hundreds of excellent sculpture works to take part in the exhibition as part of the efforts to support the preparatory work of the Shanghai World Expo, presenting more artworks for the urban beautification and the construction of the World Expo Park.
