Pujiang World Expo Park
On Feb. 13th, BIE Secretary General Loscertales visited Pujiang World Expo
Park and got a complete picture of the park construction and the
residents’resettlement situation. He said Pujiang World Expo Park is a
well-structured and well-arranged community and that it is a practical and ideal
living place. He believes the design represents a perfect interpretation of the
theme of Shanghai World Expo:“Better City, Better Life”.
The Ministry of Finance and State Tax Bureau Establishes the
Preferential Tax Policy for Expo Shanghai
With the authorization of the State Council, the Ministry of Finance and
State Administration of Taxation have currently issued a notice concerning the
tax policy for Expo 2010 Shanghai. The notice stipulates the preferential tax
policy for the following areas and members: a part of the business activities
carried out by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination and Shanghai World
Expo (Group) Co., Ltd., Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) and
participators of Expo 2010 Shanghai.
A Million Families Learning Social Etiquette to Welcome
the World Expo
On the morning of Feb. 25th, the series event“A Million Families Learning
Social Etiquette”began in the Cultural Center of Huamu Community in the Pudong
New Area. As one of the Practical Projects of the Shanghai Municipal Government
in 2006, this project plans to mobilize 1,000,000 citizens to take part in
social etiquette training with the purpose of creating a comfortable and
friendly environment for the "most successful, wonderful and memorable" Expo
2010 Shanghai.
Public Participation in Evaluating the Environmental
Impact of the World Expo Plan Carried Out Through the Internet
In order to further understand public opinion on the environmental impact of
the 2010 World Expo Plan, the Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences and
www.Expo2010China.com, have jointly launched an investigation into“Public
Opinion on the Evaluation of the Environmental Impact of the World Expo
Plan”through the Internet, which will last from February 13th to March 10th.
Expo 2010 Shanghai Welcomes Donations from Both Home and
Abroad
Expo 2010 Shanghai, a grand occasion which should“employ the power of the
nation and the wisdom of the world”, welcomes donations from both home and
abroad. As has been stated by managerial members from the Bureau of Shanghai
World Expo Coordination, the relevant department involved has stipulated rules,
which will be released at a suitable time, for accepting and managing various
types of donations.
All Reconstruction Work of Old Parks in Shanghai Will Be
Completed Before Expo 2010 Shanghai
The old park reconstruction project is now in full operation in Shanghai,
with a plan to finish the rebuilding of about 80 parks established before the
1980s. Dong’an Park takes the lead in this rebuilding project and has been
completely reconstructed. It now has been reopened to the public

in the Shanghai Library
A photo exhibition named“An Impression On China In the Early Period of World
Expos”was held in the Shanghai Library at the beginning of February. In this
exhibition, nearly 50 photos were selected from foreign literature preserved in
the Shanghai Library. They tell the story of China’s participation in past World
Expos.
Shanghai Traffic Information Center Established
The Shanghai Traffic Information Center was established on Jan. 23. Its major
activity among many other things is to provide, after comprehensive analyses and
studies, traffic information to the government as a reference for governmental
managerial plans so as to ensure the smooth movement of traffic during the Expo
2010 Shanghai.
