
Expo 2010 Shanghai China will be a great event to explore the full potentials
of urban life in the 21st century and a significant period in urban evolution.
The prospect of the future urban life, a subject of global interest, concerns
all nations, developed or less developed, and their peoples.
Being the first World Exposition on the theme of city, Expo 2010 will attract
governments and organizations across the world who, focusing on the theme
"Better City, Better Life", will display to the full extent the urban
civilization, exchange their experiences of urban development, disseminate
advanced notions on cities. They will explore new approaches to human habitat,
life style and working conditions in the new century and learn how to create an
eco-friendly society and maintain the sustainable development of human beings.
In addition to pavilions, forums and activities, a specific exhibition
section named Urban Best Practices Area (UBPA) will be built within Zone E
(Puxi), covering an area of 15.08 hectares, to present the theme of Expo 2010.
UBPA may be a new name to you. Actually, it is an innovation in World Expo
history. The UBPA consists of three parts. A simulated city block, which
includes many full-size mockups that will bring you into the most acknowledged
urban practices in the world. Several pavilion complexes will demonstrate all
kinds of widely recognized, innovative, and valuable practice plans created by
cities worldwide to improve the quality of life. A large theme plaza will
provide the platform for you to discuss the topics related to urban
administration and development.
