A series of events were held in Japan on March 20th to showcase Shanghai to
the world for the coming World Expo 2010.
More than 50 Japanese politicians, including former Prime Ministers attended
the events.
The promotion meeting of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, China was held in Le
Meridien Pacific Tokyo in Japan on March 20. Themed as "World Expos: From Aichi
to Shanghai," as part of the "Shanghai Weeks" campaign, it aims to introduce the
Expo Shanghai to Japanese citizens. Shanghai Information Office and the Bureau
of Shanghai World Expo Coordination jointly organized the event.

Meanwhile, the eight-car "Expo Express" started its journey with 320 pictures
featuring Shanghai in the carriages. The train is also decorated with the Expo
logo and emblem. The pictures inside not only show Shanghai's development, but
also feature the city's traditional fare and culture.
"Though I have never been in Shanghai, it looks very beautiful from the
pictures," said a commuter on the "Expo Express".

"I am very surprised by the changes in Shanghai," said a commuter surnamed
Suzuki who was in Shanghai five years ago. "The theme, 'Better City, Better
Life,' goes very well with the city, and I am really looking forward to visiting
the World Expo Shanghai."
