The contract signing ceremony for SAIC-GM corporate pavilion at Expo 2010 took place at the Expo Mansion on May 22, 2008. Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp Group and General Motors Corp, as a joint global partner of Expo 2010, were the first to confirm that they would build a corporate pavilion and the first to submit a theme statement for the joint exhibition. Moreover, they signed the Expo's first participation contract for corporate pavilions. The SAIC-GM corporate pavilion will present the concept of "sustainable personal mobility", in keeping with the Expo theme‘Better City, Better Life", and the creation of modern transportation system that has become an important component part of city life. SAIC-GM intends to incorporate the individualized mobility concept into the fast and convenient urban traffic system that puts the environment in the forefront and improves the quality of people's life by achieving continuous self-update and self-improvement.
