Shanghai World Expo organizers have appointed 13 experts from various fields to present ideas on the forums to be staged during the 2010 event.

At a conference on Sunday, experts brainstormed on the topic and blueprint of the forums, which will play an important role in supporting the Expo theme of“Better City, Better Life."

Zhong Yanqun, fulltime deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, has expressed the hope that experts and scholars can discuss how to achieve a better city and better life via forums.

A summit forum, six theme forums and several other forums focusing on specific issues are planned by organizers.

A declaration revealing participants' consensus on global urban development will come into being at the summit forum, according to Zhu Yonglei, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.

The committee, consisting of only domestic members at this stage, will include experts and scholars in the future.
