The 6th international forum on World Expo 2010 Shanghai was held at the University of Zaragoza in Spain on Tuesday.

Shanghai Executive Vice Mayor Yang Xiong, a member of the Organizing Committee of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, and executive deputy director of the Executive Committee of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai addressed the forum.

Yang said the annual forum had become an integral part of preparations for Expo 2010 and served as a great exchange platform enabling the city to learn from successful precedents.

The forum, jointly organized by the Shanghai municipal government and the International Expositions Bureau, was themed "From Zaragoza to Shanghai, a world of harmony".

Experts in various fields from home and abroad discussed topics such as "water, a unique resource", "better city, better life" and "road to a harmonious world".

Jean-Pierre Lafon, president of the International Expositions Bureau, Vicente Loscertales, secretary general of the International Expositions Bureau, Qiu Xiaoqi, China’s ambassador to Spain, Juan Alberto Belloch Julbe, mayor of Zaragoza and Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, addressed the forum.

The forum has been held annually since 2003 after Shanghai won the bid for Expo 2010 at the end of 2002.
