Haibao statue

A statue of the Shanghai Expo mascot Haibao has appeared in Jiaxing bringing some Expo enthusiasm to the city in Zhejiang Province.

Zhu Wei, deputy party secretary of the Jiaxing Committee of the Communist Party of China, said Jiaxing officials are inviting the city's residents to join in the 2010 Expo.

The city would step up cooperation with Shanghai in areas such as economy, culture, science and technology to share the opportunities created by the event, Zhu said.

Chen Xianjin, the deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said a successful Expo needs support and help from the entire country. He hoped the city would continue working for the event.
