Japanese ambassador visits the bureau

Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination

Japanese Ambassador to China Yuji Miyamoto today visited the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, to talk with the organisers about the preparation of the Expo 2010 Shanghai.

Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau, met with the ambassador and updated him on the current status of preparations, especially the Urban Best Practice Area.

Zhou said Japan has successfully hosted several World Expos, and Shanghai can learn from its experience.

Zhou also said he hopes Japanese cities and enterprises will participate in the event.

Miyamoto thanked Zhou for his warm welcome. He said Japan sees the Shanghai Expo as a very important event and is willing to provide advanced energy saving techniques for the event.

After the meeting, the ambassador had a bird's eye view atop the mansion of Expo Bureau and visited the exhibition hall on the ground floor.
