The Republic of Senegal has announced it will showcase efforts in improving
infrastructure at its exhibition at Shanghai World Expo.
Senegal signed a participation contract with organizers yesterday afternoon.
It will stage its exhibition in the joint African Pavilion with around 40 other
countries from the continent.
Senegal, which confirmed its participation in August 2006, will also showcase
the country's achievements in environmental protection to reveal its
understanding of "Better City, Better Life."
Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said
China and Senegal have witnessed noticeable achievements in their bilateral
relationship since President Abdoulaye Wade took office in 2000.
Hong noted that the Shanghai Expo would serve as a platform contributing to
the understanding and friendship between the two people.
Maimouna Savane, commissioner-general of the country's exhibition, signed the
contract.
