Cote d'Ivoire will showcase how its cities act as platforms for the country's
various ethnic cultures at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the country's
commissioner general for the Expo said yesterday.
The west African country has made big efforts in its urban planning to
protect cultural relics and the environment, Allogba Alain, Cote d'Ivoire's
commissioner general, said after signing the contract today with Shanghai Expo
organizers at the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.

Alain said the country will showcase the country's achievements in protecting
culture and share the experiences with the world during the Expo.
The country will present its theme "Urban Multi-Cultural integration" in the
African Pavilion which it shares with more than 40 countries.
Cote d'Ivoire confirmed its participation in July, 2006.
