Bai Wenhua, chairman of Shanghai World Expo Land Holding Co, Ltd, yesterday met with Carlo Conti, president of the Government of Canton Basel-Stadt, Switzerland, and talked about the participation of the city along the Rhine in the Urban Best Practices Area.

Bai said that the UBPA will have four exhibition sections -- livable cities, sustainable urbanization, protection and utilization of historical heritage, and technological innovation.

Bai said the contents that Basel wants to display, concerning the new energy and reconstruction of the old industrialization zone, are very important in the UBPA.

Conti said the city attaches great importance to the proper utilization of resources during urbanization. For example, the city is trying to make the Rhine a river that helps the development of industry and provides a better environment.

Bai wished Basel's case great success and said he hopes it becomes a highlight of the UBPA.
