The World Expo national tour exhibition is set to open in Tianjin
Municipality tomorrow, marking the start of a series of activities during Expo
promotion week in Tianjin, Expo organizers told a news conference this
morning.
The exhibition will display about 200 photos and some precious exhibits to
give a panoramic picture of the history of World Expo and how it influenced
civilization and cultural development.
A special section in the exhibition will showcase the awards that Tianjin's
products won at past Expos. These include Yangliuqing New Year Pictures and
painted sculptures of Clay Figurine Zhang that were given golden awards at the
1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.
The exhibition as well as the promotion week of Shanghai Expo in Tianjin
will run through April 28, said Xu Wei, spokesmen of the Bureau of Shanghai
World Expo Coordination, at the press conference.
The week includes various activities such as a seminar and a lecture
centering on the opportunities the grand event is expected to create.
In addition, organizers would promote the event through performances and
other activities at Nankai University.
The Expo tour has also stopped in Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Hangzhou,
Chongqing, Guangzhou, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hebei. The tour has attracted about
800,000 visitors thus far.
