Expo Zaragoza's landmark structure -- the 76-meter Water Tower -- is
attracting many visitors.
As one of three theme pavilions, the unique building with spiral ramps boasts
a sheet of water that is 32-meters long and 3-meters high at the entrance. Glass
tubes with water flowing into a large fountain can be seen at the center of the
base.
Expo Zaragoza is themed "Water and Sustainable Development" and this can be
seen throughout the site. A video clip explaining the origin of water and other
documentaries regarding various aspects of water are screened at the base.
The upper portion of the building features a giant droplet sculpture
representing a splash of water that indicates the arrival of life on our planet.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the remarkable sculpture when
stepping on the ramps.
Along the ramps, small shows will give visitors a pleasant journey as they
can stop from time to time to feel the flow of water by touching a water bed.
At the top, visitors can get a view of the Expo site as well as Zaragoza.
Expo Zaragoza opened on Friday and is set to run through September 14.
