volunteers who are back from Spain
The first group of Shanghai volunteers at Expo Zaragoza has finished working
at the world water Expo in Spain and is back in Shanghai.
The 12 volunteers had taken part in all kinds of works during the Expo,
including guiding visitors, answering questions and maintaining orders.
Jeronimo Blasco, deputy director general for operations of the Expo Zaragoza,
said the Shanghai volunteers play a very significant role at Expo Zaragoza.
The Spanish-speaking volunteers are an average of 28 years old. They come
from six companies and four universities in Shanghai. They will be volunteers
for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
The Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination sent the second group of
volunteers for the Expo Zaragoza on Sunday. The 11 volunteers include company
staffs, university teachers and students from Shanghai. They will serve visitors
in Zaragoza for about two weeks.
More Chinese volunteer teams, totaling 50 young people, will get hands-on
experience at the Expo on "Water and Sustainable Development" in Spain.
The specialized water Expo lasts for three months.
