Shanghai World Expo organizers and Expo Zaragoza officials

Viewing the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics was the only program for many Chinese people on Friday night. So it was for the staff of Shanghai World Expo in Zaragoza, Spain. They watched with no less joy than those in their motherland.

The team of 10 officials and other Chinese staff cheered. They expressed hope that World Expo 2010 in Shanghai will bring glory and honor to China, as does the Olympics hosted by Beijing.

The officials are learning about promotion and other Expo aspects from the Zaragoza Expo, a specialized three-month Expo on "Water and Sustainable Development.”The six-month World Expo in Shanghai is titled“Better City, Better Life."

The team members come from various divisions of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination. They have studied how the water theme was developed on the international stage and how the event has been organized.

Expo Zaragoza runs through mid-September.
