Siemens becomes Global Partner of the World Expo
2010
Siemens today signed an agreement with the Bureau of Shanghai
World Expo Coordination to officially become "Global Partner for Innovative
Infrastructure and Healthcare of Expo 2010 Shanghai China".
Siemens is the first multinational independently becomes Global Sponsorship
Partner for Expo 2010.
Hu Yanzhao, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipality attended the signing
ceremony. He emphasized that the successful preparation and organization of
World Expo 2010 would not be possible without the support from all walks of
life, especially from the business circle.
"The participation of Siemens further added to the number of enterprises that
sponsored Expo 2010. Meanwhile, Siemens is the first multinational independently
becomes Global Sponsorship Partner for Expo 2010.
"This is a good beginning for more multinational companies to participate in
Expo 2010. The Shanghai Expo served as an opportunity as well as a stage, for
not only companies in China, but also companies all over the world who has a
strategic vision and outstanding performance," Hu said.

Richard Hausmann, President and CEO of Siemens China jointly signed the
partnership agreement.

signing ceremony that it was a great honor for Siemens to become the
"Global Partner of Expo 2010 Shanghai China".
"Siemens and China, especially Shanghai, enjoy a long-term and trustworthy
partnership for already more than 100 years. Siemens has been an active
participant and strong supporter for World Expo for a long time.
"As a world leader with core competence in infrastructure and relevant
fields, Siemens will provide most advanced technology, solutions and
high-quality products/services to the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China, in the
areas of rail transportation, building technology and healthcare. Meanwhile,
Siemens can bring its global network of know-how and expertise to help making
the World Expo 2010 a successful, exciting and unforgettable world exposition,"
they said.
Siemens has been a long-term solution provider for mega-events. With its
unique business portfolio and core competences, Siemens can meet the needs of
Shanghai for sustainable city development and necessary infrastructure to host
Expo 2010.
Siemens has been an active participant and strong supporter of World
Expositions since the very first London Expo in 1851.
The strong support and commitment of Siemens to World Expo 2010 Shanghai
dates back to 2001. In July 2006, Siemens became the first multinational company
to announce the establishment of a dedicated organization to support Shanghai
with respect to all Expo 2010 preparations.
To date, there have been six global partners of Expo 2010 Shanghai
China, namely East Airlines, China Mobile, China Telecom, Bank of
Communications, SAIC&GM and Siemens.
According to the plan, Shanghai Expo will select 10-12 Global Partners and
around 15 Senior Sponsors. Currently the market development activities of Expo
2010 are focusing on more than ten fields, including logistics and delivery,
soft drink, computer system and integration services, insurance, power supply,
Petroleum & Petroleum Refining, franchised manufacturing and operation,
chained retail, wine, chained fast food, internet service as well as chip
manufacturing industries.
