Wu Jianmin, the president of the Bureau of International Expositions, today
called on young people to become more active in the hosting of World Expo 2010
Shanghai. He was speaking during the First Participants Meeting for the event in
Shanghai today.
"Young people should have more education about World Expos. They will become
the key force in hosting the event when it opens in Shanghai in 2010," said Wu.
"By now they should at least know what the difference between a World Expo
and a trade fair. World Expos are non-commercial. They don't sell anything for
commercial purposes. They are strategic and present concepts and promote
cooperation around the world," he said.
