An Australian delegation from the country's International Trade Association
today visited the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination to talk about its
participation at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
Huang Jianzhi, deputy director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo
Coordination, met with the delegation led by Kate Pollitt, executive director of
Australia International Trade Association, and Jane Ogg-Cowan, deputy Consul
General in Shanghai.
Huang gave the delegation a general introduction to World Expo 2010,
including the theme of the Expo, the site, traffic facilities, the location of
Australia's pavilion, as well as the participation of enterprises.
Huang said the organisers have planned 16 pavilions for enterprises of which
two are renovated from old factories. The others are new buildings.
Huang also invited Australian companies to participate in Expo 2010 and share
the opportunities provided by this big event.
Ogg-Cowan said China and Australia have close cooperation in commerce and
trade, but that there is still much potential for further development.
More discussions regarding real estate and banking were held between the
delegation and the organisers.
